A Deloitte report released today analyses Facebook’s impact on the global economy.

Some headline takeaways:

  • Facebook enabled $227bn of economic impact
  • Enabled 4.5m jobs globally in 2014.

The full report, which was commissioned by Facebook, goes into more detail about how Facebook’s impact was felt in various regions of the world, but the graphic below sums up the important points:

It’s an interesting report and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is obviously quite excited by its findings:

It’d be interesting to see similar studies for other social networks. Examining what impact, if any, they’ve had on economies is fascinating.
