As we’ve mentioned in the past social media is playing an ever important role in politics, both nationally and internationally.
The latest research from Ipsos MRBI looks at voters, the parties they support and how many have Twitter accounts:
It indicates that Labour voters are most likely to report Twitter account ownership and that they are most likely to be active on Twitter on a daily basis. Independent/ Others supporters are next most likely to have a Twitter account. Sinn Féin supporters are least likely to have a Twitter account and also least likely to use the platform daily.
