STARPATH: World First UV Powered PathwayHarnessing technology to be both more environmentally friendly and cost-effective is a winning combination.

A UK company is currently piloting a new technology with Cambridge city council. In common with a lot of other public authorities Cambridge faced the challenge of both providing lighting in public areas coupled with rising costs. The “Starpath” technology is pretty cool:

The aggregate material absorbs and stores energy from ambient light (UV rays) during the day, then releases this energy at night allowing the particles to glow

The company behind it all, Pro Teq, have released a video that explains more about both how the product (and its technology) works and how they “install” it:
