Irish online payment provider, Realex Payments, has announced significant growth.
In a release earlier this afternoon the Dublin based company announced revenues up by 28%, transaction volumes up 44%, client base increase by 74% (!!!)
They’re now processing 1.5 billion euro a month on average!
During the year Realex Payments signed up an additional 3,550 online retailers as clients, bringing its total client base to 8,360. Some significant wins during the year included signing up Paddy Power, notonthehighstreet.com, Hostel Bookers, Cocosa and 7 Day Shop. The online payment provider has scores of house hold names as clients including Aer Lingus, Virgin Atlantic, 32 Red, AA Insurance and Vodafone. In January 2012 the business announced a significant deal with HSBC Merchant Services, which sees Realex Payments provide a managed service to their UK online retailer base.
Conn and I spoke about Realex recently as their new micro-payment service, Carapay, is currently in beta.

I shopped around extensively when we were looking at Payment Gateways and Realex frankly didn’t cut the mustard in regards of its price structure or security when compared to the likes of paypoint.net (formerly secpay) – Their 3rd man service is invaluable.
