This week’s show is all about media manipulation.  Michele is reading Trust Me I’m Lying: Confessions of a Media Manipulator, which explains how media works in our social, mobile age – and how you can use that understanding to manipulate it.  We consider the downfall of Digg, once the darling of Web 2.0, whose investors lost more than half of what they put in, and snigger at Greenpeace’s new Shell spoof site, a satire worthy of Jonathan Swift!

Also discussed this week: DNS Changer, the Apple – Samsung judgement in the UK, Flickr’s Dear Internet recruitment campaign, and Carapay, the new online payments system from the people who brought you Realex, currently in private beta.

We also discuss the latest Hotline report on web criminality.

Technology.ie is brought to you by Blacknight, Ireland’s largest provider of domains and hosting.  They’ve just passed the 100,000 milestone in websites hosted, and are now offering Whois Privacy on .com and .net domains.
