sexpressAnd it is a trip!  StartupExpress.net is one of the most delightful websites we’ve ever seen, and now the excitement surrounding the experience itself is really starting to build.  It’s all thanks to a group of entrepreneurs who decided to hire a train to bring Cork’s tech community to the Dublin Web Summit in style.  Hats off to Trustev, VoxPro and PCH International for organising this and to the others who’ve chipped in to help!

Pat Phelan reports that Microsoft have provided hoodies for everyone aboard (XL for me please Pat).  The train will include 3 specially designated carriages: Speakers’ Carriage, Startups’ Carriage, and Hardware Carriage, and it’s non-stop from Kent Station Cork to the Sydney Parade Dart Station at Dublin’s RDS.   (That’s right – no stop at Heuston!)

The bad news is that its booked out.  The good news is that the experience will be shared.  There will be WiFi on board, 4 camera crews, dozens of bloggers and hundreds of tweeters!  I’ll be one of those shooting video and I’m planning interviews in advance to make the most of the time.  Leave me a comment if you’d like to make sure we meet up on board, or email conn at blacknight.com.

All aboard!
