Time will announce their “person of the year” later this week
Earlier today they announced the ten people who made it on to the final list:
- Bashar Assad, President of Syria
- Jeff Bezos, Amazon Founder
- Ted Cruz, Texas Senator
- Miley Cyrus, Singer
- Pope Francis, Leader of the Catholic Church
- Barack Obama, President of the United States
- Hassan Rouhani, President of Iran
- Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary of Health and Human Services
- Edward Snowden, N.S.A. Leaker
- Edith Windsor, Gay rights activist
From a “tech” perspective Bezos and Snowden are the two we’ll be watching for, though personally I’d consider Snowden to be more important this year

Will Snowden Be Time’s Person of the Year? http://t.co/ELwIrqTJ8n or will it be Miley Cyrus?
Sad day when Assad and Cyrus even make the list!
Agreed. Although “Person of the Year” doesn’t have to mean good person by Time’s criteria, I think there are some surprising names on there. I can imagine staff saying: “Does it have to be ten?” :)
