Today’s Google Doodle commemorates UCC’s first professor of Mathematics, George Boole, inventor of Boolean logic, “which inevitably enabled revolutionary thinking in not just logic and math, but also engineering and computer science”.
For more on Boole and his legacy, check out UCC’s George Boole site.
Meanwhile, I’ve gone and filled out the truth table, with a little help from Google Docs Spreadsheets, although I couldn’t find an Exclusive OR (XOR) function so I filled that in manually! Geekiness!
If you feel like doing a Karnaugh Map for this, go right ahead! Leave a comment and I’ll include it :) Is there an elegant way to design the circuit? Let us know. In fact – why not go ahead and build it and take a picture/movie? Send it on and we’ll publish it!
