What makes a good password? It should be easy to remember, and difficult to crack.
According to security researcher Per Thorsheim, those two properties can reinforce each other. The key is to make a password personally significant to the user yet very long – e.g. a sentence.
If I ask you to remember a random number, like 37824601, it doesn’t make any sense to you. You need it to make sense.
Per was speaking in Dublin recently at the Vodafone Smart Business Show, where he talked to Technology.ie.
