Here’s a bonus podcast for this week featuring Gabriela Avram, lecturer in Digital Media at the University of Limerick and one of the organisers of 3DCamp, which will be held on 25 May.
In the spirit of BarCamp, 3Dcamp is open, inclusive and free to attend – it’s also very cool, with a focus on 3D technology, hacker and maker culture and the local CoderDojo Arduino hackers will be participating as well.
The keynote is by Dr. Conor MacCormack, co-founder and CEO of Irish firm Mcor Technologies, a pioneer in paper-based 3D printing. There will also be a panel discussion on Bitcoin. In fact, 3DCamp is accepting bitcoin donations!
Attendance is free for the full day event – but registration is required via Eventbrite. Well done to the volunteer organisers for keeping the Barcamp flag flying in Ireland. And a hat tip to Blacknight for providing domain registration and hosting for Irish barcamps!
