MissionV Launches its VR Platform for All Schools

Earlier this year we visited a primary school in county Offaly to see the MissionV Virtual Reality Programme for Schools in action, as children used the Oculus Rift VR Headset to immerse themselves in a recreation of historic Clonmacnoise which they had built themselves.

The resulting video was our biggest hit on Technology.ie, clocking up over 10,000 views in six months.

Now, MissionV have announced the launch of their service for all schools, and the headset is an integral part of the experience.

MissionV takes the best of game-based learning and wraps it a safe, secure, online service that makes it easy for teachers to manage in the classroom. The software is already compatible with the virtual reality headsets that will arrive on the market by 2015 and take online learning to amazing new places; think virtual field-trips to anywhere you can imagine.
