“I’m not a naturally techie person … but I have had to learn to love it because it’s vital for me”, says fashion designer Natalie B Coleman. She was one of the speakers at the Chic2BGeek event for secondary school girls held at Microsoft Ireland’s Sandyford campus on Friday, ahead of International Women’s Day on March 8.
This year’s event laid an extra emphasis on female entrepreneurship, while maintaining the traditional focus on academic subjects in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The message is that all pathways and options are equally open to young women; creativity and passion are essential; and the important thing is to be true to oneself.
This is one of a series of videos recorded at the Chic2BGeek event which Technology.ie is publishing this week in the lead up to International Women’s Day.
