It’s a wonderful goal, and a wonderful reminder of the everyday heroics that sport can produce, in small competitions as well as on the grand televised stage! Once upon a time, these moments lived only in local lore. Nowadays you’re just as likely to find a stalwart supporter with a HD camera in the crowd, and moments of greatness can find the international recognition they deserve.
I’m serious about that. This is a world class goal, and that’s proved by the fact of its viral success: 2.5 million hits on YouTube.
